i do not make a habit of crossing velvet ropes or climbing on fragile ancient structures, however this modern wooden walkway up the step pyramid was calling out to me. It was enough to attract the attention of a tourism police officer, who escorted us back to where we were supposed to be (as opposed to where we had somehow found ourselves, on the backside of the step pyramid where we were apparently not supposed to be). – photo credit – J.Wetmore
